The wall is the waterfall
Rings are laid down continuously from the live spectrum and recede behind you, so the tunnel you are flying through is literally the recent history of the music. Bass widens the barrel, treble textures the surface.

Travel is driven by the music, not a clock, so the flight slows when the track eases and stops when it stops. During a build the barrel narrows and tenses; the drop releases the pinch and throws you forward.
