Take the feed, or listen to the room
A line out from the mixing desk into an audio interface is the cleanest source. A laptop microphone in the room works too — the noise floor is measured at start, so ambient sound does not fire beats on its own. Either way BLOOB only listens; nothing is routed back into the PA.
Calm by default
Chill mood, Reduced motion and a soft palette give a background that supports the words on the other screen instead of competing with them. Turn Flash guard on for a congregation: it caps how deep and how fast full-frame brightness can swing, which matters in a room where nobody chose to be at a light show.
Run it from the sound desk
Remote Director pairs your phone with the laptop by QR code, so a volunteer at the back can change scene, hold or black out without walking to the machine on stage.
How to do it
- Connect the desk output to your interface, or plan on the microphone
- Open BLOOB, click “Mic / instrument” and choose that input
- Set Chill mood, turn on Reduced motion and Flash guard, pick a calm scene and palette
- Press H to hide the controls and go fullscreen on the projector output
Questions people ask about church worship visuals
Do we need a licence to use it in a service?
No. Both apps are free to use, including in a venue and on a stream. Your music licensing is a separate matter between you and your rights body, as usual.
Can it share a laptop with the lyrics software?
It can, but on an older machine a second display or a second laptop is safer. Auto-performance lowers preview resolution before it lowers scene detail, so it degrades gracefully rather than stuttering.
Can we save a look and reuse it each week?
Yes. Save a named preset, or keep a share link that restores the scene, palette and mood exactly.
Will it put anything unexpected on the screen?
No text or imagery appears unless you add it. The title overlay can be switched off entirely in Tune → Studio → Title & Layout.
