Real Web MIDI, real sound

BLOOB listens to your controller through the browser’s Web MIDI API and plays a polyphonic synth (Keys, Pluck, Bass, Pad, Bell). The synth is wired into the same analyser as a song, so the visuals react to the actual sound of what you play — the note you hold lights the band you are playing, a drum pad fires a real onset. Nothing is faked from note numbers.

Expression is honoured

Note velocity shapes brightness and filter, the sustain pedal (CC64) holds notes, pitch bend bends every voice, and the mod wheel opens the filter.

Jam over a track

Free play works alongside a loaded song or a browser tab, so you can play along with a backing track and the visuals follow the mix.

How to do it

1. Plug in your MIDI keyboard or controller (USB or a MIDI interface)
2. Open BLOOB in Chrome or Edge and click “MIDI keyboard”
3. Allow MIDI access; play — velocity, sustain pedal, pitch bend and the mod wheel all work
4. Change the visual with ← →, or jam over a song you loaded
