BLOOB

A browser alternative to TouchDesigner for audio-reactive visuals

TouchDesigner is a node-based environment where you build the visual yourself. If you want the result rather than the patching, BLOOB and Galaxy hand you forty-seven finished audio-reactive scenes that already lock to the beat — free, in a tab.

Who this is for

Different tools, different jobs

TouchDesigner can build anything: custom geometry, shaders, sensors, multi-machine output, hardware integration. It also costs time to learn and, commercially, money. BLOOB builds nothing — it gives you finished scenes that already respond to kick, snare, hats, spectrum and song structure, which is a different trade.

The reactive part is already solved

Separate onset detection per band, a beat grid predicted slightly ahead of the audio, automatic compensation for your output latency, and a whole-track structure map that fires scene changes on real section boundaries. That is precisely the part a first TouchDesigner patch spends a weekend getting almost right.

How far you can shape it

Scene, mood, palette, intensity, glow, trails and particle density are all controls; MIDI learn binds them to a hardware controller; presets, share links and .bloob files save a look; and both apps embed chrome-free in an iframe if you want the visual inside your own page.

How to do it

  1. Open BLOOB for 2D scenes, or Galaxy for WebGL 3D
  2. Feed it a file, a microphone, an instrument through an interface, or a browser tab
  3. Pick a scene and shape it with the mood, palette and intensity controls
  4. Record live, or export offline at up to 4K

Questions people ask about touchdesigner alternative

Can I write my own shader?

No. The scenes are fixed — though there are forty-seven of them across the two apps, and each one reacts to a different part of the sound.

Does it output NDI or Spout?

No. Capture the tab in OBS as a browser source, or export a file.

Is it GPU heavy?

BLOOB is Canvas2D and runs on almost anything. Galaxy is WebGL and wants a real GPU for the heaviest scenes.

What does it cost?

Nothing, with no commercial restriction and no watermark.

Free forever — help keep it that way. There is no paywall, no watermark and no ad. Support pays the hosting and the phone-remote relay servers and funds new scenes. ♥ Support BLOOB & Galaxy What it funds
